Been Fishing......

Our first full day of the holiday and the weather was great. Reasonably warm, dry and sunny. We wanted to make the most of it so headed just a little way up the coast north to Craster.

We walked along the coast to Dunstanburgh Castle and then on to Embleton Bay, where I had a little paddle in the sea! It was a tad cold.....

Then we walked inland a little, eventually coming back to the shore just before Craster again. P left me sitting on the shore while he carried on and did a further loop to the south of Craster. I sat and watched the waves for ages, spotted a grey seal and a few oyster catchers, before meeting up with him by the harbour.

This cormorant was sitting beating its wings furiously on the rocks just beyond Craster Harbour as we started the walk. It did look rather soggy so we suspected it had been fishing!

Did a bit of star gazing tonight as there are few street lights where we're staying. We just lay back on the picnic table outside and took in the views. We saw the Milky Way and managed to identify a few stars and planets with the help of a couple of iPad apps!
