Shandy Hall, Coxwold, North Yorkshire

I've driven past Shandy Hall so many times and never stopped. It's only open on a Wednesday and a Sunday afternoon, for a limited period during the year. Shandy Hall was the home of the Rev. Laurence Sterne (1713 - 1768) who is reknowned for the writing of 'The life and opinions of Tristram Shandy, Gentleman' published in 1760.
So, this afternoon I went directly to Coxwold and listened intently to Patrick Wildgust the Curator who has quite a tale to tell.
I now intend to discover the book and attempt to read it!
