Norwich Cathedral

This morning we visited Norwich Cathedral, begun in 1096 and completed 50 years later, in the middle of the twelfth century. It's style is almost entirely Norman. This is a view of the spire from the very large cloister. Just after midday we took a train back to Liverpool Street in London, then the underground to Paddington, and finally a train out to Oxford. We're staying at Somerville College with our friends Alice and Frank. Marylee has known them since the late 1960's, when she spent three years at Oxford and then in London.  Stay tuned for more over the next couple of days.

Backblipped late next afternoon, after a visit to Blenheim Palace  (next  blip :)
