"Cash Paid For Broken Hearts"

What's all this about?

I visited my sister in Burnham-on-Crouch and came home a slightly different way. This sign was on an oak tree out in the countryside.

I could see Stow Maries church in the distance and stopped to have a look. It has an unusual bright red cross on the steeple given by Claude Ridley, who served in the R.F.C. at Stow airfield in the First World War. Three airman of the R.F.C. are buried in the churchyard. I went a bit further down the single track road and discovered Stow Maries Halt nature reserve. Must go back to explore. :)
