Brainshark

Doing an online course at work on a product called Brainshark. It's basically a presentation authoring tool that allows you to record and publish presentations. The course includes guidance on writing your script and suggests writing a 'lousy draft' which you then review, revise and finalize to produce the 'final draft'. The argument is that the first step engages the right brain, the creative half whilst the second step engages the left brain, the analytical, critical part of the brain. A common failing is for the left brain to join the party too early and as a result you find yourself writing and rewriting the same section of text over and over again as left brain dominates and strives for perfection before right brain has even had a chance to put forward some ideas. This is SO me. Now they say that the first step to being cured is to acknowledge that you have a problem, so we can tick that box. Trouble is that I cannot see how I'm going to shut left brain down whilst right brain does his thing. Left brain definitely dominates this relationship.

Made a ginger and syrup cake for the bake off last night and then left it at home when we went round the sister in laws to discuss plans for New York. What a shame - I will just have to eat it all myself. It is rather scrummy and not a soggy bottom in sight.

Miss having Rosina as a model so I had to recycle an old photo for today's blip. Another one that was better in my head than in the flesh, but hey, when you experiment, you fail more often than you succeed.
