The most moving exhibit.

An enjoyable morning meeting two of Mrs.K's cousins who were visiting Manchester.

Salford Quays seemed to be a good place to meet as they were due to tour Media City in the afternoon and the Lowrey Centre is worth some time.

But we spent the morning in the Imperial War Museum (North). There were many displays showing conditions in both the major 20th. Century wars. And there were tanks and fighter planes.

But the most moving part of the visit was talking to the volunteer veteran pictured above. He is 91 and took part in the D-Day landings. He was quite clear that he regretted nothing and that if he had his life again he would make the same sacrifices to defend our way of life and his family and friends.

To one who has never had to fight to defend my country and my values it was a moving moment to hear his firm commitment.
