Sun, sea and sex southern hawker style

It really was a fabulous late summer's day today so Minsmere it was. Decided to walk the circuit round The Scrape which I rarely do. This meant a very distant view of the juvenile red-necked phalarope (along with godwit, ruff, redshank, spotted redshank, dunlin, knot, avocet, common sandpiper, curlew sandpiper, curlew) and the other reserve rarity today, the barred warbler - there was a wryneck about but wouldn't have got better views than I did 2 years ago.

Walking back along the path from The Sluice I was lucky enough to spot these dragonflies locked in an embrace. There were lots of dragonflies around today. I am so lucky being able to visit this reserve so regularly, especially on a lovely day like today.
