Driving down memory lane

Another fabulous day of nostalgic driving. I spent this afternoon with Jaguar Land Rover, indulging in another trip down memory lane in cars of yesteryear.

They included an ex-Iraq Land Rover ambulance, the Jaguar XJ6 that was once the personal car of Jaguar founder Sir William Lyons, a gorgeous white E-Type that features in the extra photo, and this chic XJS that used to belong to Princess Diana,

This evening, before dinner, we had a real treat: listening to the reminiscences of Norman Dewis. Now aged 94, he was the highly regarded chief engineer for the development of the Jaguar C, D and E Types.

Back to the Goodwood Revival tomorrow. It will be an early start, to take part in a cavalcade of historic Land Rovers around the Sussex track. it has been a good week.
