The Lozarithm Lens

Sandy Lane (5th September 2015)

This year (I think for the first time) a fabulous selection of wildflowers has appeared on a road verge in front of a house at the top end of Back Lane in the village of Sandy Lane - a great excuse for me to get out my new macro lens for some shots (although this blip is not at macro magnification).

I see that this is my 1900th blip in Blipfoto's new method of counting, though it doesn't seem to be a milestone they celebrate.

Lozarhythm Of The Day:
Linda Lewis - Reach For The Truth (1972)
Heard on Gilles Peterson's excellent weekly radio show on 6 Music on this Saturday, this is the highly underrated singer and musician Linda Lewis still sounding fresh and contemporary over forty years on. Backed by husband Jim Cregan (from Blossom Toes), the legendary rhythm section of Pat Donaldson and Gerry Conway (from recently defunct Fotheringay) and vibes player Poli Palmer (from Family) among others, this comes from the album Lark, which was recorded at Apple Studios in Savile Row, following an expensive rebuild masterminded by Beatles engineer Geoff Emerick.
Reach For The Truth was also the B-side to her poppier Top Twenty hit Rock-A-Doodle-Doo.
