Not the Rhône

This was going to be a blip of the River Rhône, as we are staying the night in Tournon, right by the river, and we had planned to walk by the water whilst I took photos. However, the minute we arrived in the town it started raining and, by the time we had actually found our way into the hotel (took a long time!), it was pouring down. Now there are thunderstorms and rain set in for the evening.

So, instead of a dramatic picture of the Rhône, this is a not very interesting photo taken in the village of Gigondas. Having learnt a long time ago never to travel on motorways in France on Saturdays in September, we wandered on backroads and ended up in the Rhône Valley wine area. We stopped briefly at Gigondas and bought a couple of bottles of wine.
