Blip Heaven!

Heavy rain this morning looked ominous, but eventually cleared and we went out to explore! First stop was Kirkby Lonsdale, just down the road and what a beautiful little town it is.

We parked right by Devil's Bridge and walked into town from there. Wonderful church, fabulous stone buildings, something of interest round every corner and so much to see - we'll be back a few times this week! The main photo is of Ruskin's View and it was painted by Turner too!

After a superb pizza in an Italian restaurant, we drove on through stunning countryside to Dent and Hawes, stopping regularly to get out and take pictures. There were a couple of large viaducts, neither of which was the Ribblehead, but probably on the same line. Loved the dry stone walls and animal pens dotting the hillsides and the views were amazing as we went up hill and down dale.

Plenty of wildlife too, with both a red and grey squirrel seen running across the road, male and female red grouse sitting on a wall, two heron on the River Lune and a very lovely sheep on the grass verge:-)

So lucky with the weather, which was warm and sunny with just the odd light shower, so hope it stays like this! Very frustrated that I can't add extra photos via the iPad and if there is a way, please tell me!
