Menorca - Day 3: Ciutadella Streets

Back blip

We travelled all the way across the island to Ciutadella, the old capital. It is a characterful city, and makes for fun street photography. We walked to the end of the harbour (Mayorca was visible as it was a clear day), and explored the area around the Castell de Sant Nicalau defence tower. We walked back along the length of the port to have tapas in town, before meandering vaguely around taking in the poky streets around the cathedral, and shops hidden along covered walkways.

After lunch, we went to see the lighthouse at Cap d'Artrutx (we visited all the others last year), and got a great view of Mayorca as the day had become even clearer. It was (in my opinion) the least interesting of the island's lighthouses (the most modern, and part of an unappealing development), so we went elsewhere for a swim, finding our way to Binigaus just west of Sant Tomas.

Other pictures from this day can be found on Flickr (right from here).
