The Monument

This prominent peak is at the head of the valley leading from Purau, in Lyttelton Harbour, over the saddle to Port Levy and Pigeon Bay. 
A popular destination with rock climbers. it is visible from many points on Banks Peninsula. I've never attempted getting to the top, but it's on the list! I drove past on my way home from Port Levy to Sumner.
