What is it?

This colorful moth was on my front door; I couldn't find anything that looked like this on the internet so I am wondering what it is? Is it good or is it bad? There are two extra shots to help you help me.

Very pleasant at the beach today; it seems very crowded for a weekend after the kids are back in school. I think it was the heat in town that motived so many to drive to the beach!
