YORKSHIREBRED

Through hell and high water (well rain anyway!)

Whilst friends and my husband regularly go walking I am usually at work. Walking long distances is therefore rather alien to me. Today we walked from St Helier to the Corbiere Lighthouse. We awoke to gale force winds and torrential rain - lovely! This photo is the lovely gate leading out of the very pretty church at St Brelade (during a lull in the weather!). Extras show part of the group (34 of us plus 2 guides), and the lovely beach plus the lighthouse in the sea fret. Some routes changed slightly as the guide feared we would be blown off the cliff paths. We have been blown and buffeted, sandblasted and soaked, but all in all a good walk (trek) with a great bunch of people - and a pint or two at the end of it. And the best thing - today was about 10 to 12 miles - we get to do it all again on a longer walk tomorrow!!
