Captain Flint

I thought it was about time I went down to my little local cemetery to check for Waxcaps - I've been neglecting fungi in favour of birds and butterflies recently. Last year, we found 8 species there. Today, I found 3 - the Blackening waxcap, the Golden waxcap and a small group of Parrot waxcaps. The older ones had turned pink, but these young ones still had the viscid green cap and the yellow gills. It was raining and misty, so getting this shot involved getting very wet.

I had suggested next Sunday as a possible Blipmeet at Longshaw. If anyone is up for it, let me know, and I'll be there.
