Eashing Bridge

My sister joined us for our regular monthly lunch with M&C. Today we met them at a pub beside a collection of restored mill buildings beside the River Wey at Eashing. When we phoned to book they said that they only had one other booking. What they didn't tell us was that twenty-four women were celebrating the fiftieth birthday of one of their number! They had a very noisy happy celebration, and although at times our own conversation was difficult to hear, they were so happy we didn't mind. The pub was full and the lunch was good.
Afterwards we walked along to see the beautiful medieval bridge, one of several built by the monks of Waverley Abbey to cross these reaches of the upper Wey.
