Clock Tower

Another wonderful morning driving into Glasgow. I took a quick shot of the flamboyant French Renaissance building (Chimmy Chungas) in the West End of Glasgow.

Designed by R Duncan, architect; 1886, this commercial building, occupies a prominent corner site on Great Western Road/Bank Street. This former grocery store is now flats, offices and a bar/restaurant.

The corner is marked by a slender circular clock tower, complete with observation platform and a classical cupola.
