Hot, Hot, Hot!

It's been a glorious day, and definitely one to spend at the beach so we booked loungers for the day on the Carlton Jetty.

We went for a morning stroll along La Croisette and picked up some sandwiches which we ate in our room with the patio doors open - it was much cheaper than eating out and as we've got a lovely room with a view, why not? We opened a bottle of Bandol red wine to accompany our picnic and then headed off to the beach.

We've seen all sorts of different things today, helicopters landing on a jetty, swans in the sea (I kid you not!), a couple being escorted along the Carlton jetty to their tender which whisked them to their very grand yacht, and a couple of wedding entourages driving up and down La Croisette with their horns honking. This is a tradition I love to see in France and one was a vintage car with the bride & groom travelling stood up and waving at everyone. They pulled up outside the front entrance of The Carlton while someone took their photo, so I took an aerial shot of them. I'm struggling to post extras from my phone, so I'll upload them when I get home.

Sadly, it's now time to check in for our flight home tomorrow - we have most of the day here as our flight isn't until 5.20pm, but you know when you've got that feeling that you don't want a good thing to come to an end? I'm starting to feel that this is my last week of normality for quite some time, although staying at The Carlton isn't exactly normal I know, but you know what I mean.

Anyway, less of that, we've got a nice night to look forward to at a French restaurant, and more of the same tomorrow morning. I hope you're having a good one too!
