Rob Roy's grave

September is reckoned to be the best month to visit Scotland and the country is bustling with visitors seeking their roots.

Take this visitors book (see extra photo) in Balquhidder church, famous as the burial ground of Rob Roy though it’s unlikely the grave is really his.
Most of the entries are from abroad:  Canada, Spain, New Zealand, Belgium, USA and ours -
– Bridge of Allan- is the only local one.

Well, we happened to be in the area today and decided to stop off and visit it. For I am ashamed to say that despite having lived for many years in Scotland we had never visited this famous site though to be honest there was not much to see unless you are into tombstones.

One grave looks awfully like another, (or is that the philistine in me speaking?)

Whatever. The location is beautiful and it is well worth a visit.
