Something new...

Great fun this morning sea kayaking along a short stretch of the Northumberland coast from Sugar Sands. Perfect weather - warm and sunny, no wind - and calm sea. Fabulous views of Dunstanburgh Castle (extra photo). No seals or dolphins, but we spotted lots of jellyfish and a big salmon leaping out of the sea, as well as a variety of sea birds. In the picture - the instructor, Spot (his dog, who stood like a small figurehead at the front of his kayak for most of the trip), me and Sarah, who was also kayaking for the first time. Afterwards, MrM drove us down to the shop near Newcastle that we failed to locate last week, to buy some bits and pieces for his workshop. Then back up to Alnwick where we treated ourselves to some nice, bright Spanish bowls and a jug, had a late lunch and did the weekly shop.

Really must get down to painting the walls in the courtyard tomorrow...
