Pilbara..a dry outback

The Pilbara region of Western Australia is know for its rugged country and sparce vegetation

The red dirt makes a great contrast against a clear blue sky and the occasional green vegetation that manages to survive in this hostile area.

This photo is taken in the Hammersley Ranges on our way to the Iron Ore port of Dampier as we passed by the Asburton River.

The whole area is just magic at the moment and the different colours and contrasts so attractive.
