Two Bee Or Not Two Bee

These bees were sharing the same late blackberry blossoms, but they are different species; on the left a common carder bee and on the right a buff-tailed (or possibly white-tailed) bumblebee.

We had returned to the site where we picked blackberries last year and managed to pick over 6lbs of fruit. Although not all of top quality some will enhance an apple pie and the rest should make reasonable jelly.
