Kaim Plantation

Coming past Newton village a neat copse comes into view, quite photogenic against the skyline; I managed a snap through the windscreen as we passed.

Checking on the NLSmaps website it appears to be called Kaim Plantation (not to be confused with another of that name in the Borders) which the Scotland's Places website describes as A small plantation at the North end of a mound or ridge called "The Kaim", it is said that one of the Roman Generals who fell near this spot was buried here and a small mound of earth thrown up to mark the spot.

I wonder whether anyone has sought the grave, or any other artefacts which may have been lost or discarded along that ancient pathway..
