Pompeii

One of the absolutely beautiful murals on the walls of a villa in Pompeii (and best viewed large).
We (Nikonabike and I) arrived this morning at the crack of an egg, just before the gates of Pompeii opened. We thought "Oh no!. The place is packed" but actually we had made the right choice in getting there early, as by lunchtime, you could hardly move. We made the rash decision to quickly walk to the far end of Pompeii and work our way backwards, to avoid the crowds. It certainly paid off, as we were the only tourists in lots of the villas and streets.
When it became that busy that we had a job to get into the brothel (there's a phrase I've never used before) we called it a day, but by that time we had done everything we wanted to and were pretty hot and tired. You may wonder why we queued to get into the brothel if the crowds were that bad. Well we had been recommended to go in by none other than LooseCanon and Technophobe (who had gone on a boat ride to Positano, having already visited Pompeii a few years ago). Also there was no way round as the road had been blocked off, to make everyone walk through there. A quick trot through, a few photos and we were off again.
I've added some extras of Pompeii too.
Now back at our hotel, we are meeting LC and TP shortly for our final dinner of this fantastic holiday.
Thanks so much for comments and stars and hearts. I will try to catch up when we get home.
