Pangkor

Another early morning.  I was up after 6 and we left at 9, heading north this time.  We were off to Pangkor, an island in Perak. #1 d in l and her partner are doing some pro bono work at the largest Chinese School on the island, designing a community outdoor area. They are going to be doing some community consultation during the Pangkor Island Festival and we were off to support the preparations, and get some sun, sea and sand.

We drove to Lumut and after some lunch took the ferry across to Pangkor.  Then to the hotel in Pasir Bogak.  We chose well, although it turned out we didn't need two rooms, WH spent hardly any time in hers.  After locking Olivis in the room (!), she and I headed to the beach but it was quite difficult to access and Olivia wasn't that impressed with her paddle.  So then it was back to the pool and had a great time in the very warm water. The hotel is right next to the beach, a really good location.

WH had gone off to the school, Olivia cried a bit, but we had a walk round the village to scope the restaurants for later and she fell asleep.  i sat and read my book beside the pool.

Then it was down to the beach just before 7 to watch the sunset.  I haven't done a sunset for a while and as is usual on Malaysian beaches it was full of people with a similar plan.

There were some mixed messages about dinner and a slow internet meant some completely missed messages.  Olivia and I went to the recommended (by LP) Chinese restaurant and the Festival group went to a seafood one two doors along.  But we met up and then back to the hotel.  WH was going back to work and Olivia was nowhere ready for bed and we'd decided she's be in my room tonight.  after a seat at the beach and a chocolate cone (for me) it was back to the hotel. We sat outside for a bit, me reading, her squirming then went to bed for a Whatsapp conversation with her dad.  Eventually, at 11 p.m. she went to sleep, a little angel.
