Sgwarnog: In the Field

Derby

Another match, and yet another angle on Bradford City's Coral Windows Stadium, back in the upper tier of the main stand but this time right up against the NW corner.

A Yorkshire derby against Sheffield United was always going to be something of an occasion, and even though the match was live on TV, 11yo, 7yo and I were part of a 19,317 crowd. These are comfortably the two best supported teams in League One.

City's fortunes have improved over the past few weeks as the new players bed in and confidence returns. A one goal lead at half-time was doubled shortly into the second half and that was a fair reflection of the match to that point. But then United pulled two back in five minutes and it was a tense last quarter with both sides having opportunities to win it. 2-2 it finished.

City are now up to 12th, and on this showing should be at least capable of challenging for a top six play-off spot.

Eight games gone, 38 to go.
