Early sunday morning in Toronto

Beautiful day in Toronto. Up early, hubby went to the rowing club to unload the boats off the trailer and have a practice. I came along, brought my bike and hopped on and rode in to the city, caught the ferry to Centre Island with my good friend S, where we cycled around and had brunch out in the garden. S missed our last trip to the island and as the weather was so good, we planned it so she could enjoy it today. Centre island in Toronto is north America's largest car free community. There is a 35-40 yr waiting list to lease an adorable cottage style home on the island for a year or 2 (you can't purchase). S is going to add her name to the list. We may persuade one of our kids to as well. Hard to believe they will be nearing 60 when their time comes up. After the island ride/brunch we went in to the bustling city (Blue Jays baseball game on and some style of team event running marathon thru the downtown core, and a parade or happy peaceful protest, we weren't sure which) we rode our bikes to the Distillery districts "Fit for Fall" all day free outdoor yoga classes and info booths. We enjoyed awesome outdoor yoga flow, this really should be an event every weekend. It was heaven! Followed by a great outdoor dinner at the food kiosks, while a band played and the 48,000 happppppy baseball fans streamed past. A fitting almost end to september. Contentedly weary, I hopped on to a local train back home, instead of riding back - having already done 68 km and one full yoga class. Bubble bath here I come..... ;)
