Rowing regatta

Perfect weather for Mr. don_T's birthday and first head race rowing event of the year. 5.4 km and he stroked the 8 for the first time! They won and were very happy with their performance. Lovely day spent at the lake visiting friends and cheering each other on. I brought my hybrid bike and cycled along side, cheering and taking photos of the race. This picture as at the start line where the boats are released about 20 seconds apart, chasing eachother (head race) instead of side by side in lanes. I made birthday cupcakes and shared with all - then home for a cozy evening and yummy dinner. Young son won a home game in Manchester today and older son worked hard on draft day for his virtual hockey pool. We enjoyed talking to each of them twice today with lots of birthday wishes!
