Edge of the "high" street

Aka Pusherstreet, Freetown Christiana.

After a boat tour we crossed the bridge to the island of Christianshavn. Canals and cobbled streets make it very picturesque.

Freetown Christiana is a 1km long area that was occupied by a group of homeless Copenhageners in 1971. Since then it has survived as a self proclaimed autonomous enclave with its own rules. Well known for its open cannabis trade.

Just beyond this spot where i took the picture is the start of Pusherstreet which has many rather aromatic stalls. You are forbidden to take photos and advised not to run. Basically you can get high just walking down there and taking in some deep breaths! Most of the punters on the street looked incapable of walking let alone running.
We merely passed through drinking in the atmosphere and continued on passing the colourful characters, quirky buildings and amazing graffiti.

Done loads of other stuff too including travelling on the driverless metro to the Blue Planet aquarium, shopping at the Lego store, eating, drinking and enjoying the sun. My feet hurt like hell but it has been worth the pain.
