Learning day by day

Anyone for tennis?

It maybe a school night but I am sipping a small glass of wine. It has been a long old day. Drop in was busy, thankfully there were two helpers as well as myself as a supporter. But I came away with that lovely feeling you get when you know you have made someone feel better about what they are doing.

The friends I met on Friday gave my kids some money to spend on something they would like. Will has thought hard and decided he would like to spend his on a tennis racket as he has out grown his previous one. So today he asked his coach what sort of racket he recommended and ended up buying himself this racket. He then went on to win all the various games that his coach threw at them.

He also was heard read by his teacher and told him how boring he found the books (as only Will can manage to do and get away with!). The outcome was that Will has been moved up reading levels and when he gets his book at the end of the afternoon if he thinks it looks boring then he can tell his teacher and may be allowed to choose another. This may entail him having two books a night, but that is hardly a problem. He has also been asked to work on his expression.

Carys's dental appointment went quite well. The tooth that required antibiotics has calmed down, but we will monitor it closely. She had another tooth filled and didn't flinch with the injection. Fingers crossed the other tooth doesn't flare anytime soon.

Oh and in between that I had a phone call to say my glasses were ready to be fitted. Only a small prescription for short sight and astigmatism mostly for driving (although am legal without) & TV watching. Blimey I can read the writing on Only Connect now, doesn't help me answer correctly though!
