Family Jewels

These little trinkets are pretty much all the jewelry handed down to me from my grandmother and great grandmother.  Sadly, I don't know the story behind any of these pieces, except for the little gold locket bearing the monogram FDG -- this belonged to a sister of my maternal great grandmother with whom I share a name.  I don't know whose blonde hair is so carefully arranged in the mourning pin, or in whose memory the somber black mourning ring was worn.  The mauve oval locket opens to reveal space for two pictures, but it is empty, and all I know about the Victorian garnet ring is that its original owner had tiny fingers...
