Manesty Woods

Our host, Gail, had kindly offered to wake us if there were misty conditions or a good sunrise in the mornings. 7am this morning there was a knock at the door. Unfortunately, Gill and Trevor didn't have a good night due to Gill's bad knee/foot, so it was Steve and I that headed up to Whinlatter Pass to capture the misty conditions.  Back in time for breakfast and then a quick shower before making our way to Nichol End.  Another gloriously sunny day (we've been so lucky with the weather). The reflections of the boats and hills in the lake were wonderful again.

Hot chocolate and scone for lunch (just as well i'll be getting back into my Focus T25 workouts when I get home!). We then drove to Grange. From here we walked up through Manesty Woods to this bay overlooking Derwentwater where this shot was taken. A 25 second exposure using the Big Stopper and converted to mono in Silver Efex Pro. Stopped off at Surprise View on the way back to our accommodation.

Dinner and a few drinks later and I was ready for my bed!

Extras are Nichol End and a heron on Derwentwater
