Watendlath Tarn

Woke to another warm, sunny day. Our first stop this morning was at Ashness Landing Station.  The waters were still and made for some great reflections.  Then we headed over to Ashness Bridge where the bright sunshine made getting a good shot very difficult - blinkies were in overdrive!

Onwards to Watendlath tea room. Hot chocolate and a scone with jam and cream (yes, I know, there's a bit of a theme going on here)! We spent the afternoon at Watendlath Tarn. Poor Gill was still suffering with her knee and foot, so she and Trevor stayed around the tarn, whilst Steve and I climbed the hill for lovely views of the valley behind.  However, we couldn't see the tarn from here, so we headed in the direction of Dock Tarn, climbing up higher and, after much huffing and puffing, we reached the top. All worth it though as we had a great view of the Tarn far below. (Please see the extra shot). We took a different route back to Watendlath tarn where this shot was taken.  As you can see the reflections were amazing!

Dinner tonight was at the Royal Oak pub in the village.  Then back to LPH where we raided the games collection. Girls versus boys. Gill and I won the first game of Downfall, however the boys must have cheated as they won the next two!!!  ;-)) After a bottle of wine and much fun and giggling, it was time for bed.

Another fantastic day :)
