Golden Plover(Pluvialis Apricaria)

New location up in Seeb and what a find! A large flock of Golden Plovers. The last time I saw these birds was on the Island of Masirah(just off the coast of Oman)and not in great numbers. I love the golden yellow, white and black spangled feathers. They sound like a class of 1st year recorder (the plastic wind instrument)pupils, which is either a lovely sound or positively not a nice sound! Despite having a Mum who taught the recorder, I still love hearing their song. All of the birds seemed to be resting on one leg, so I did wonder if they were on a rest stop. Anyway I loved watching them squabble over best standing on one leg sites next to the lake.
