I'm all for charging people for plastic carrier bags - they are a scourge on the environment. I hope the new law has as positive an impact in England as it's had elsewhere in the UK. 7.6 billion plastic bags given out in 2014 - that's 140 per person and 61,000 tonnes in total - just can't be right.

Some of us have been using bags-for-life for years anyway *glances up at halo*, this one being my personal favourite.
