Night Heron(Nycticorax nycticorax) juvenile

This is a juvenile Night Heron, which are only active at dusk and dawn. Apparently they spend most of the day in communal roosts. The adult birds are black and grey and have the slightly scary, red intense eyes. This bird looks almost(to me)like a fusion of bird and beetle with that almost shell like back. An odd bird as a junior and an odd bird as an adult, I have photographed an adult in flight but would love to see an adult in this pose, with no reeds in front to ruin the photograph would be nice!
