Out of Place

Quite the wrong look for today with 'the gentle rain from heaven falling on the earth beneath' and last week's sunshine a distant memory.

The same shop has rails of thick Icelandic jerseys and Aran cardigans waiting for student buyers in bed sits with one bar electric fires and meters to feed.

I am awaiting the delivery of one of the castle carpets which has spent the last 5 years in deepest Yorkshire with daughter #5, but is coming home to the Dower House this afternoon with a carrier.

Today is the anniversary of my introduction to motherhood, and I spent a lovely morning with my firstborn having tea and chat.........and a smidgin of cake to celebrate.
Happy Birthday, Sally!
