With mountains like these

Quiet study

So the holidays started today. And I don't think we've been busier. So much for a rest!

Ben started the beach football tournament at 10.30, played five games, scored three goals and they (Bar Nadal) won four and are top of their league today. It was a great atmosphere with marquees and a DJ etc. and as soon as they finished a game they could run off into the sea to cool down. We all did. For once, he wasn't in goal the whole time and really impressed me how he literally threw himself into the game and ran like a hare the whole time. The tournament finishes tomorrow and I'm hoping they continue their winning streak. Tomorrow's Blip maybe. Which is partly why today's shot is not the setting sun on the beach during the penultimate game. There was something else going on.

Agu's end of music course presentation. It seemed at one point it was going to go horribly wrong, with time details and venues getting confused. However, with the aid of a kind and patient man with a moto, boys were moved from one place to another and I saw Agu's moment of quiet glory. He walked on to get his certificate, embraced his teacher, and then raced off. He then stood for a while to read what it said amidst shrieks and trumpeting and applause.

My boys could not have the life they have anywhere else. They do the things they love to the full. I could never keep up this pace (did I say I did a load of lengths in a pool and sewed many curtain hems in the afternoon?) ferrying them about in a City. A fabulous day in a small town.
