Torquay

We arrived just before midnight last night, unpacked and had a nightcap before going to bed. The house is lovely, and we really appreciate Marilyn's generosity.

This morning we went to the cafe at the beach for a 'full English' and then walked the boys along the beach. We spotted lots of cormorants on a rock out at sea - it was lovely to see them in their natural environment.

Then this afternoon we went into Torquay and were nicely surprised - it's a long time since I've been (probably about 20 years), and Alan's never been. We walked round the marina, sat and had a drink in the sun, wandered round the shops (I bought a lovely red hat in Hoopers), and then mum and I went to Living Coasts which is a wildlife/sea life centre. They have penguins and seals amongst a variety of birds & fish that all live in a very natural habitat.

As we went at the end of the day, they validated our ticket so that we can go back free of charge, but we got to see everything including the seals which were being fed. We'll probably go back on Sunday morning though for the penguin feeding.

Tonight Alan & I nipped to the Osborne Hotel which is nearby, for a drink and to book a table for tomorrow night and now we're just chilling out.

Anyway, it's Friday night, hope you all have a good weekend!
