Trekking in Jujuy

We expected a pretty easy walk along the valley but it turned out to be a gradual accent followed by quite a steep climb up a ravine to the col, where our guide made an offering to the mother earth - there were quite a lot of upturned wine bottles there - we left some coco leaves.

Mr C was a star and helped a woman down over the scree - it was quite a challenge for a few. It was a beautiful walk and we saw all the different strata of the coloured rock.

We then visited an Inca archeological site and museum, then back to the hotel - we got a room in the end last night, but the water went off in the middle of my shower, as did the electricity, so we went out for food.

Tomorrow - several hours in a bus to the border, then we get a train in Bolivia for 9 hours, arriving in Uyuni at midnight. Best get to bed!
