If you can't beat them...

Canada Geese.

Day 2 of our holiday on Solace.   The weather which we hoped would hold had if anything improved.   Some of the warmest weather and clearest skies we have had all summer greeted us.

I can't be a dedicated photographer!  The rest of the crew were up at first light for atmospheric misty shots along the canal.  I stayed tucked up in bed until a more reasonable hour.  However we were under way at our usual 9:00.

One of the joys for me of this type of holiday is the closeness to nature and the way the wildlife to a great extent ignores the boat until it is almost level with them.  Often ignoring it completely.  The fields round the canal often are crowded with geese.  Mainly Canada some Greylag and even domestic breeds and hybrids.  As they go about their daily routines we see some spectacular fly pasts as flocks pass over.

This is a small part of a large flock of Canadas which flew over.
