Little Fungi

I spotted these little fungi in one of the woods we walked through today - this was just a small cluster amongst a quite a large patch on an old log.

I had forgotten my little Lumix camera which I tend to use for macros, but fortunately I had the flash gun for my SLR. It needed the light boost to get a decent shot. I have the Tamron 28-300 which is my 'walkabout' lens - it focuses quite closely ( 0.5 m ) so you can get quite good macro shot. This is the full frame height wise (just some bits chopped off the sides). Still not a lot of DOF even at f8!

On our way back past the river there was a big chunk of 'foam' that looked just like the top of a lemon meringue pie - included a shot in the extras.
