Poor tree

My namesake magnolia (Susan hybrid) has been thoroughly denuded. Hubby is very happy, as he's been champing at the bit to get the defoliation finished! I must admit our front lounge has twice the amount of light coming into it now, as the tree had got enormous. The only sad thing is that we will get hardly any flowers on it next year...
