Hazy morning on the Kent Estuary.

.

The road from Arnside to Milnthorpe widens near Storth and Sandside and it is easy to park at the edge of the ever changing estuary. This place is very popular with fishermen who wait for the tide to flood in bringing flounders with it.

The hill directly across the river is Whitbarrow which is a big chunk of limestone beloved by naturalists, walkers and amateur geologists.

I was enchanted by the hazy morning light and the pools on the sands which are different after every tide.
Such scenes are difficult to capture by an amateur photographer with a bridge camera. But I am not too disappointed in the result which seems to have a little of the quality of a painting
