Three bad choices

Bad choice #1: Waited until really late before going to the park.
Bad choice #2: Didn't take a tripod.
Bad choice #3: Tried to blip dogs on a path shaded by trees.

I have a fairly steady hand and my Nikon has a VR lens, but that wasn't enough today because I made all of the above mistakes. You can see the result. With good light, this could have been a much better picture. Feisty little Holly faced down two large greyhounds (I cropped one out). I think I'll go back to taking my walk in the morning when the light is better.
