Beacon

A glorious day. We abandoned everything and went off to Baltimore (the original one!) We parked in the village and walked out to the beacon, affectionately known as Lot's Wife. Built in 1798 it's one of a series of warning system constructed around the Irish coast when it was feared that Napoleon might come to the assistance of the Irish against the the English (complicated). Today all was calm and clear - the views mighty. This is a good whale-watching area but scan the seas as we did we saw nothing but two large seals fishing amongst the weeds.Exciting enough.

We lunched al fresco - cheese and tomato toasties for me and son#1, macjerel sandwich for himself and I went mad and got into holiday mode and had a glass (half) of cider!

We stopped off at Lough Hyne on the way home and had a wander around the lake. Everywhere was looking magnificent.
The day has not ended yet for it's chips and Athouse to follow. Tonight's offering isTimbuktu - frighteningly topical. Not many laughs I suspect but the photography looked amazing.

Talking of amazing photography son#2 is famous! How impressive to see your work big and bold on a billboard! He's delighted.
