Neglect or ' Financial Interest'?

Yesterday in Manchester a famous  listed building undergoing renovation set ablaze on the roof. How and why is not yet known .Today I went to the area to have a look . All seemed low key but I'll be interested if the renovation does continue to completion. Nearby are  two other buildings seen here . One is the old Post Office , 45 , Long Millgate , Manchester . Front and rear view. Years before the IRA bomb and relocation of London business I used to come here and look at this thinking what a great spot it would be to live .I would have loved to dwell upstairs in a tiny flat. No fancy paper thin walls little better than card on wooden frame as found in modern flats . This structure , neglected as it has been, stands .The new stuff being built will never be listed. Next to it is a former hotel.Again listed with scaffolding but no signs of work taking place . Both are waiting . If so for what ? The right moment maybe.Between each was an advertising placard which read " Goodbye "...Symbolic or coincidence ? I dread to think -
