Hanging Around

First of all I must thank you all for the kind comments, hugs, hearts and especially jokes on my fuchsia blip. I have read them all once again today, chuckled and enjoyed the warm glow that kindness produces. Thank you so much.

I found this particular money spider on a rose in this morning's sunshine. This one is Linyphia triangularis because it's 5mm abdomen is triangular in profile. This is pretty large for a money spider as they are generally tiny. They're also mostly black or brown so this colourful one is very special. They spin a horizontal sheet web and sit underneath it waiting for prey to fall into it. According to superstition if you have a money spider on you, it will bring financial good fortune as it will spin you new clothes.
