Tiny Tuesday 20 - The Solution.

I photographed this first thing, well before 9 a.m. to catch it before it had shrivelled too much. The portion in yesterday's blip was of a part that I believe is technically known as a receptacle or torus (or even thalamus if you're old enough), depending on your upbringing: the portion left behind after you've picked the berry. But then again, I could have completely misunderstood the encyclopaedia for, although I'm pretty good on mammalian anatomy - it's an interest of mine, I'm not so hot on the botanical stuff. It is a little odd that all three names have totally different meanings in the English language.
